Kurt was looking for love, but all he found was Love.
What do they call you when you tell the truth?
"somebody has to do something, and it's just incredibly pathetic that it has to be us." - jerry garcia (of the grateful dead)
i think it'd be a gross moral indictment if i left this out as it's one of my favourite quotations of all time..
REG: They've bled us white, the bastards. They've taken everything we had, and not just from us, from our fathers, and from our fathers' fathers. LORETTA (stan): And from our fathers' fathers' fathers. REG: Yeah. LORETTA: And from our fathers' fathers' fathers' fathers. REG: Yeah. All right, Stan. Don't labour the point. And what have they ever given us in return?! XERXES: The aqueduct? REG: What? XERXES: The aqueduct. REG: Oh. Yeah, yeah. They did give us that. Uh, that's true. Yeah. COMMANDO #3: And the sanitation. LORETTA: Oh, yeah, the sanitation, Reg. Remember what the city used to be like? REG: Yeah. All right. I'll grant you the aqueduct and the sanitation are two things that the Romans have done. MATTHIAS: And the roads. REG: Well, yeah. Obviously the roads. I mean, the roads go without saying, don't they? But apart from the sanitation, the aqueduct, and the roads-- COMMANDO: Irrigation. XERXES: Medicine. COMMANDOS: Huh? Heh? Huh... COMMANDO #2: Education. COMMANDOS: Ohh... REG: Yeah, yeah. All right. Fair enough. COMMANDO #1: And the wine. COMMANDOS: Oh, yes. Yeah... FRANCIS: Yeah. Yeah, that's something we'd really miss, Reg, if the Romans left. Huh. COMMANDO: Public baths. LORETTA: And it's safe to walk in the streets at night now, Reg. FRANCIS: Yeah, they certainly know how to keep order. Let's face it. They're the only ones who could in a place like this. COMMANDOS: Hehh, heh. Heh heh heh heh heh heh heh. REG: All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us? XERXES: Brought peace. REG: Oh. Peace? Shut up!
ok, i'll write a bit bout me.. i love music, i spose it's just something that i am very passionate about. i play the guitar (i can play an ickle bit of bass too). i plan to save up to buy myself a bass, actually, but for now i'm content with my guitar. i have a dark blue fender squire strat, which i love playing. i can also play the piano/keyboard. i'm self-taught on both. and hey, there's also my talents of recorder playing if i get that desperate! anyway, i play in a band (as a guitarist, not a recorder player tho funnily enough). we're writing lots of great songs at the moment, and plan to maybe enter the battle of the bands competition at esquires, the local shit hole so watch this space! ofcourse, if we do enter then *everyone* is coming to support us. even if we're shit! we play sort of punk-rock with metal influences. we've been together for bout half a year i think. my music taste is quite varied.. i quite like some classical music (i played the violin for like, 6yrs) and jazz, and i don't mind bits of folk and some 80s or 90s pop music (this decade's is shit), but i love rock and alternative music, and i love punk and metal. my fav artists are the sex pistols, placebo, rachel stamp, nirvana, manics, jeff buckley but most importantly, the pixies. i love loads of others, but i spose there's no point in listing them all off when i have a list of interests below anyway. i'd like to play as a musician, but also i'd like to maybe enter the fierce, harsh world of ..music journalism. i guess it's my idea of a dream job; being PAID to go to gigs and mingle with artists, interviewing them and such. at the moment i'm a sixth form student doing Alevels (english lit, latin and french), and after this year i'll be let loose upon the world. i want to do english and classics at uni after school, not sure tho if i'll take a gap year or not yet. i don't like pretty much most club moosick. i also hate missing top of the pops (the highlight of my friday night, man), meat and getting writer's block.
oh yeh, and i'm married.
i'm going out with a lovely chappy called anthony (from work) at the mo
